Firstly, a shout to all the thousands from Phun! :) The photos from another fantastic long weekend down at the Ripcurl Newquay Boardmasters 2005, Fistral Beach, Nuts Bikini Babes contest (You can see me taking photos in this shot (Global Surf News), blue & white shorts, topless..good location!) ..and out on the town in Cornwall's party capital are here.

The nuts bikini boardmasters babe contest (Nuts Magazine) was won by Caroline with Sammy second and Cornwall's Danielle Murphy comming 3rd. (She won the Front Bikini contest in
Walkabout, Newquay earlier in the week). Other girls the included Maria Fowler, Max Power Bikini Babe winner Emma Wilson and Page 3 babe, and my choice of SiDoes Babe of The Event, the girl from Danmark Hanna Lansman probably.
Regarding this years event things I was 'stoked' about:
1. The organisation of the Boardmasters - Much better than in previous years, ran more to time and people kept better informed. SportsVision did a bang up job this year.
2. Giving out free magazines with profiles of surfers, skaters and times things were going on was good. Remember to put an explanation of the scoring in next time.
3. Having two big screen TVs so we could see the surfers whilst on the beach or bar easily.
4. The weather on Sunday and Monday :)
5. Judge Jules at Barracuda on the Saturday night; was good fun.
6. Riding Giants premier (it's out on DVD?!)... love the choice of music in that and was good to watch at the Fosters beach bar.
6. The second round of the Nuts Bikini Babe contest... in the sun! :)
7. Me firmly refusing to go camping with the rest of you and having a bed and cooked breakfast every day!
8. The bars in Newquay seem to have been done up lots now, Help Bar is classy and love the new 'cavern' bit in Central, also Bouzzios etc.. all good.
9. Ed Lee (I think? Genius anyway!) comparing in the bikini final as a dodgy Spaniard.. Q: "How do you excite a Lemon?" A: "Play with its citrus!"
10. The weather on Sunday and Monday, lush! Got nice and brown on those two days ;)
11. Meeting the most pathetic Batman and Superman ever in Walkabout and ripping about their self confidence problems! :)
12. Seeing how excitted Geoff got over meeting two girls from Australia Uncovered in Sailors.. I had no idea who they were!?
13. DJ in Bar Help putting on 'Staying Alive' as I walked in in my white Travolta suit! :p
Things I wasn't so 'stoked' about:
1. The Radio 1 parties on the beach.. locking everyone out; against the ethos really and was naff, I guess local licensing wouldn't allow a beach party?
2. The location of the Vert, wasn't so picturesque and seemed smaller. Also missed the two commentators from last time.. although both were at the event?
3. Having the other ramps there was a bit confusing with the commentary.
4. The small waves in the finals, can't be helped I guess. :(
5. In general the village was a bit more cramped than last year.
6. Mobile phone reception on Fistral... it's sponsored by Nokia for Gods sake!
